これらの写真は２００６年にロンドンで撮影したものです。セルフパブリッシングにて写真集にまとめました。街を歩いていて遭遇した物の最期の姿や佇まい、テクスチュア、その状況や空間をフィルムに収めています。そのような言わば彫刻的なシチュエーションを、本の中に構成することをコンセプトにしています。言い換えるならば、本の中に彫刻をつくるように編集をしています。
２つの異なるイメージや、あるいは似ているイメージを、ページを見開いた時にあえて隣り合うように構成しています。 別々に撮った写真に繋がりが生まれ、隣り合う組み合わせによって、別の新たなイメージが湧き上がります。イメージとは、私たちの頭の中で出来上がるものでもあるし、目の前に広がっている光景でもあるのです。
These photographs were taken in London, 2006. This is a self-published photo book. I photographed the last forms of objects, their appearances, textures, situations and spaces that I encountered while walking down the street. The concept of this book is to construct such a sculptural situation in the book. In other words, it's like making a sculpture in a book.
When you open the page, two different or similar images are composed next to each other. Connections can be created between the pictures taken separately, and selection or composition can evoke another new image. An image is something we can create in our minds, and the scene in front of us is also an image.
